Admission

Pupils from sixteen to twenty-five years of age, already in possession of the fundamentals of Latin grammar and a solid foundation of vocabulary, are admitted to the Academy. Room, board and classes are sustained through scholarships from the Mnemosyne foundation. Each year no more than forty students are accepted in the male boarding school for the winter program. Finally, all students are expected to maintain certain norms of behavior, which may thus be summarized:

  • Alcoholic beverages, smoking and drugs of any kind are prohibited.
  • Only classical music is allowed.
  • Obscenities of any kind (in conversation, in performance, in composition and in any other situation) are not permitted.
  • A moderate and neutral manner of dress is required.
  • Students must respect fundamental norms of hygiene.
  • The established hours for breakfast, lunch, dinner, classes and chores must be observed.
