Euroclassica annual conference

At Vivarium novum Academy, Frascati/Rome, 25-28 August 2024

Euroclassica and Vivarium novum Academy are proud to invite their members and friends to participate in the annual conference of Euroclassica, that will be held in Frascati on 25-28 August 2024.

Program:

Sunday 25: Arrival.

Monday 26: Nova et vetera: teaching Latin and Ancient Greek. Public conference on the importance of teaching the classics and on the teaching methodologies, including workshops. Confirmed speakers: John Bulwer (Euroclassica), Steven Hunt (Università di Cambridge), Luigi Miraglia (Accademia Vivarium novum), Christophe Rico (Polis Institute) and Raf van Rooy (Università di Leuven).

Tuesday 27: morning: General Assembly of Euroclassica (non-delegates will have free time on the morning). Afternoon: guided tour in the “Castelli Romani” and concert.

Wednesday 28: participants will be invited to a guided tour in Rome.

A detailed program will be published soon.

How to participate:

• Euroclassica delegates can participate without fee in the entire conference: they can choose either to be lodged for free in the estate of the Academy or to rent a room in a hotel in Frascati (see the list below).
• Non-delegates can participate in the conference “Nova et vetera: teaching Latin and Ancient Greek” on Monday 26 for free; in case they need lodging, a limited number of rooms will be available on campus; in case room are not available anymore, participants will have to book a room in the hotel.
• Please fill the registration form within June 31 and send it to convegni@vivariumnovum.net.

Colloque annuel d'Euroclassica

À l'Académie Vivarium novum, Frascati/Rome, 25-28 août 2024

Euroclassica et l’Académie Vivarium novum sont heureux d'inviter leurs membres et amis à participer au colloque annuel d'Euroclassica, qui se tiendra à Frascati du 25 au 28 août 2024.

Programme :

Dimanche 25 : Arrivée.

Lundi 26 : Nova et vetera : l'enseignement du latin et du grec ancien. Colloque publique sur l'importance de l'enseignement des classiques et sur les méthodologies d'enseignement, incluant des ateliers. Intervenants confirmés : John Bulwer (Euroclassica), Steven Hunt (Università di Cambridge), Luigi Miraglia (Accademia Vivarium novum) Christophe Rico (Polis Institute) et Raf van Rooy (Università di Leuven).

Mardi 27 : matin : Assemblée générale d'Euroclassica (les non-délégués auront du temps libre le matin). Après-midi : visite guidée dans les "Castelli Romani" et concert.

Mercredi 28 : les participants seront invités à une visite guidée de Rome.

Comment participer ?

• Les délégués d'Euroclassica peuvent participer gratuitement à l'ensemble de la conférence : ils peuvent choisir d'être logés gratuitement dans le campus de l'Académie ou de louer une chambre dans un hôtel de Frascati (voir la liste ci-dessous).
• Les non-délégués peuvent participer gratuitement à la conférence "Nova et vetera : teaching Latin and Ancient Greek" le lundi 26 ; s'ils ont besoin d'un hébergement, un nombre limité de chambres sera disponible sur le campus ; si les chambres ne sont plus disponibles, les participants devront réserver une chambre à l'hôtel.
